EARLENE E. KANENGIETER

Earlene Esther Kanengieter, the daughter of Elmer and Lena (Klaassen) Rosenboom, was born March 14, 1928 near Ashton, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Little Rock, Iowa area where she received her education in country schools, she graduated from the Little Rock High School in 1945 and went on to attend Business college in Mankato, Minnesota. On May 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Andrew Kanengieter Jr. in the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Earlene had worked at Booties Hatchery in Worthington, Minnesota, Kooiker Chevrolet in Rock Rapids and at Aalfs Manufacturing in Sheldon; she and her husband have farmed in the Sheldon area for over 60 years. Earlene passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, reaching the age of 80 years, 10 months and 1 day.
She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon. Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, cross stitch, playing cards and or any type of game. She and her husband also enjoyed listening to Christian Music and attending concerts.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Andrew of Sheldon; and their children, Arlyn and his wife, Ann Kanengieter of Old Hickory, Tennessee; Marcene and her husband, Doug Kruger of Farmington, Minnesota; Leon and his wife, Mary Kanengieter of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Judy and her husband, John Van Wyk of Sanborn, Iowa and Denise and her husband, Ron Richter of Loveland, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Jesse and Kim Kruger; Matt and Angie Kruger; Justin and Connie Kanengieter; Brach and Michelle Kanengieter; Chad Kanengieter; Jason and Sarah Van Wyk; Laura and Ben Wagenaar; Renae and Matt Hartog; Brianne Van Wyk; Anna Richter; RaeLynn Richter; 5 great-grandchildren, Sonya Kruger; Novia and Zenna Kanengieter; John and Luke Van Wyk; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Manuel and Helen Rosenboom; Frederick Rosenboom and Marvin and Clarice Rosenboom.
