EARLEEN M. JENSEN
Earleen Mae Jensen the daughter of Earle and Meta (Meier) Zaiser was born May 5, 1929 in Hartley, Iowa. She graduated from Calumet High School in 1946. In 1948 she was united in marriage to Earl Lange and the couple made their home in the Sutherland area. He preceded her in death in 1955. On December 22, 1956 she was united in marriage to Paul Jensen at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. After their marriage the couple made their home in Sutherland. In 1974 the couple purchased the Old P.O. Restaurant in Sutherland they operated it together for 18 years until their retirement in 1992. The couple’s retirement years were spent in Sutherland. Earleen became a resident of the Sutherland Care Center in August of 2004. She passed away at the care center on Saturday February 5, 2011 reaching the age of 81 years and 9 months.
She was baptized on November 18, 1929 and later confirmed on March 7, 1948 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland where she was a long time member. Earleen enjoyed being in the garden and the many flowers that she grew.
Earleen is survived by her husband of 54 years Paul Jensen of Sutherland; three sons and their wives, Noel and Edie Lange of North Mankato, MN., Jeff and Joni Jensen of Round Rock, Texas, Kelley and Rhonda Jensen of Aurelia; a daughter Lisa Huckaby and her special friend Tim Klatt of Sutherland; a daughter-in-law Sue Lange of Kasson, MN.; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by first husband Earl Lange, son Greg Lange, two granddaughters, one great grandson and her parents Earle and Meta Zaiser.
