DOROTHY L. KAMPRATH
Jesus said, Because I live, you shall live also
Dorothy Luvilla (Fint) Kamprath was born September 10, 1920 at Emma L. Bixby Hospital in Adrian, Michigan. She was the second oldest child of Orman Almond and Luvilla Bertha (Leach) Fint. Her older sister was the late Annette Lillian and her younger brothers were the late George Adam and, now residing in Texas, Carl Burton Fint. Dorothy was baptized at and attended St. Johns Lutheran Church (LCMS). After graduating from Adrian Elementary and High School she worked as a telephone switchboard operator and as a sorority supervisor.
She met her husband, Ruben Kamprath, when he accepted a call to teach at St. Johns Lutheran School. They were married on Easter Day, 1945. Ruben and Dorothy had four sons; twins: James Edward, John Charles, (died at birth); Stephen Paul and Mark Thomas. Ruben accepted a call as principal to start a school in Southgate, Michigan (Christ the King) and to serve as teacher, organist and choir director. During these busy times Dorothy worked as a legal and church secretary. After retirement Dorothy and Ruben moved to Paullina, Iowa, where their son, Pastor Stephen and family resided. After Ruben passed away in 1997, Dorothy moved to Seguin, Texas (2001) to be closer to her brother, Carl and sons, Jim and Mark. In 2012, in her remaining golden years she lived with Mark and Paula in Spring, TX and finally while visiting Stephen and Susan in Rolla, MO our Lord received her to her heavenly home.
Dorothy displayed her Christianity and talents in numerous ways, too many to mention. She served and supported others faithfully, attended church, Bible classes, LWML and volunteered at the Senior Center and Hospital in Seguin. She was an excellent seamstress and an amazing cook. She happily gave of her time and treasure. God, indeed, blessed her to be a blessing.
Surviving Dorothy is her brother, Carl Fint of San Antonio; her sons, James (Paulette), Stephen (Susan) and Mark (Paula); her grandchildren, Jamie (Michael), Michael, Jessica (Kasme), Christopher, Thomas (Elizabeth), David (Maureen), Matthew (Heather), Jonathan (Julie), Jessica (Ryan) and Jacob. Her great grandchildren, Joseph, Rebecca, Mikayla, Jonathan, Kasey, Sadie, Andrew, Hannah, Kaylyn, Adam, Jacob, Taryn, Leah, Alex and Madison. She also leaves behind a host of friends.
