Doris Williamson, age 91, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Cornerstone United Reformed Church in Sanborn, Iowa. Rev. Daniel Donovan officiating. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, November 18, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation will be Friday, November 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Doris Williamson was born on January 4, 1926 in Red Oak, Iowa. She was the daughter of Dewey and Florence (McQueen) Short. She lived her youth in Des Moines, Iowa where she attended school and graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Gerald Irvin Williamson of Des Moines, on May 3, 1944 in Phenix City, Alabama. Gerald was an Orthodox Presbyterian Minister. Doris assisted her husband in ministry throughout the United States and two times in New Zealand. She was a loving wife, mother and best friend to their daughters, Nancy, Cathy and Sandra. In 1993, Gerald and Doris retired and moved to Sheldon, Iowa. They were blessed with 73 years together. She was a member of the Cornerstone United Reformed Church in Sanborn, Iowa. Doris passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Gerald Williamson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Larry Cambier of Custer, SD, Cathy and Dan Engelsman of Sheldon, IA; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Gretta and Charles Van Deventer of Sevierville, TN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Short of West Des Moines, IA. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Gary Heynen, her parents and two brothers, Ronald Short and Stanley Short.
