DONNA L. STERLER
Donna Lynne Sterler, the daughter of Marion and Nelvina (Boone) Sterk, was born October 11, 1956 in Edgerton, Minnesota. She moved with her parents to Sheldon, Iowa, where she received her education and graduated from the Sheldon High School in 1975 and later attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. Donna was united in marriage to Kerwin William Sterler on February 14, 1976 at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon. After their marriage the couple made their home in Ashton, Iowa and then moved to Sheldon. Donna has worked for the United States Post Office for 16 years and has been the Post Master in Melvin, Iowa for the past 10 years. Donna passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, reaching the age of 51 years, 3 months and 22 days.
She was member of First Reformed Church of Sheldon. She loved her family and enjoyed spending every free moment that she could with them. She enjoyed playing the piano, boating and camping.
Donna leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kerwin of Sheldon; and their three children, Stacey and her husband, Joe VanOort of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Dustin Sterler of Sheldon, Iowa and Kelli Sterler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and three grand puppies; she is also survived by her parents, Marion and Nelvina Sterk of Sheldon, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Terry and Brenda Sterk of Manning, Iowa; two sisters and their spouses, Nadine and Gary De Hoogh of Sheldon, Iowa and Sharon and Tim Hejlik of Garner, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
