DONNA A. KRUSE
Donna Ann Kruse, the daughter of Richard and Cleo (Loafman) Noack, was born July 24, 1934 in Sheldon, Iowa. She received her education in Sheldon. Donna’s mother passed away when she was 9 years old and she went to live with her grandparents, Martin and Elfrieda Loafman. She was united in marriage to Merlyn “Bud” Kruse on August 22, 1950 in Titonka, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made their home on the Floyd Crest Farms north of Sheldon where they lived and farmed until moving into Sheldon in 2004. Donna was a wife and a mother and in later years she worked at Children’s World, Hy-Vee and volunteered at East Elementary, listening to children read. In April of 2010, they moved to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon. In September of 2010, Donna became a resident of the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn. She passed away at Prairie View on Friday, November 12, 2010, reaching the age of 76 years, 3 months and 19 days.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was active in the church council, teaching Sunday School, Ladies Circle and the choir. She was also active in DAR and the Merry-Go-Round Club. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid reader. Her main passion was taking care of Bud, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all that they did
Donna is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bud of Sanborn; and their four daughters, Susan Johnson of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Nancy and her husband, Wayne Woelber of Sheldon, Iowa; Mary and her husband, Lyle Lundgren of Orange City, Iowa and Lora Kruse of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a sister, Gladys and her husband, Bob Duckson of Burnsville, Minnesota; two aunts, Vida Driscoll of Viroqua, Wisconsin and Alice Loafman of San Jose, California; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.
