 Donald Riemersma, age 85, of Sheldon who passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon. His services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon with Rev. Paul Van Maanen ~ Officiating.

 Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa. 

 Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 until the time of the service at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Donald (Don) Riemersma, the youngest son of Henry Sr and Marie (Ver Mulm) Riemersma passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 85 years, 2 months and 8 days.

 Don was born December 8,1939 in rural Sheldon. He attended country school Grant #1 through the eighth grade. In his teens, he helped his dad and neighbors with farming. Don married Glenda Faye Vander Lee on June 23, 1959 at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa. Four years later Don was drafted into the service (Army) March 1963 through February 1965. After returning home from the Army, Don started working at Big 4 in Sheldon, Iowa, where he mixed feed for 37 years. Don retired from Land-O-Lakes in January 2003. 

 Don was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa. He is a member of the American Legion. 

 Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda of Sheldon, Iowa, 2 daughters, Sheila (Craig) Wahlstrom of Sheldon, Iowa and Bonnie (Harvey) Lamfers of Brandon, SD. Four grandchildren, Ben (Jessica) Lamfers of Clear Lake SD, Sarah (Ryan) Schultz of Granite Falls MN, Blake (Alexis) Lamfers of Worthing SD, Carrie (Nate) DeGroot of Sheldon IA. Five great grandchildren, Reagan, Lincoln, Waylen and Elsie Lamfers and Colton De Groot, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

 Don was preceded in death by his parents and family, sister, Marie (Herman) Buren, brothers, John (Alice) Riemersma, Henry Jr (Dorothy) Riemersma, Cornie (Marian) Riemersma and Arthur (JoAnn) Riemersma.
