Services for Daryl M. Van Meeteren, age 79, of Sheldon who passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon with Pastor Mike Cooper, officiating.

     Daryl Merlin Van Meeteren passed from this world on March 8th in Sheldon IA at the Sanford Medical Center. Family had gathered in the days prior to his passing to celebrate his life. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandpa. He loved farming, hunting, fishing and woodworking. He restored and sold antiques for many years. 

     After selling his own farm in IA he helped the Nelson brothers of Hendricks MN with their farming endeavors. He and his wife Mary later moved to Libby, Montana where they lived out their golden years before Mary's passing in October 2021. In May of 2024 he returned home to Iowa to spend his final days. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Lois Van Meeteren of Boyden, IA and his wife Mary. 

     Survivors include his children Bob (Theresa) Van Meeteren of Reedsburg, WI, Jill Zeutenhorst of Sioux City, IA as well as, Robert Disbrow, Callum (April) Yocius and Michael (Estrid) Ames. He also had 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Brothers Lonnie (Karen) of Sheldon, IA, Dwayne (Laura) Van Meeteren of Boyden and Lee (Carla) Van Meeteren of Boyden, IA.
