DARLENE KREYKES
Darlene Kreykes the daughter of Eric and Alma Petrich was born April 25, 1931 in Sheldon, Iowa. She received her education in Sheldon schools after which she was employed as a clerk at the Hollander’s store in Sheldon. On January 24, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert Wayne Kreykes at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. The couple’s first married years were in Sheldon until 1953 when they moved to California. The couple raised their family and spent most of their married life in California .They returned to Sheldon in 1988.Bob and Darlene moved to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon in May of 2009. Bob preceded her in death on October 4, 2009 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Darlene had just moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn on February 9, 2011. She passed away at Prairie View on Monday February 14, 2011 reaching the age of 79 years 9 months and 19 days.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family especially family gatherings.
Darlene is survived by her three children, Rick Kreykes of Alta Loma, California, Janie and her husband Greg Grosser of Olathe, Kansas and Randy and his wife Ute Kreykes of Palmdale, California; six grandchildren, Krista, Travis, Michael, Tyler, Sean and Melissa; five great grandchildren, Joshua, Cameron, Cole, Caleb and Luke one brother, Al Petrich of Pasadena, California, also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother Don Petrich and one sister Mildred Petrich.
