DALE P. ANDERSON
Dale Prentice Anderson, the son of Arthur Peter and Sara Isoline (Bell) Anderson, was born July 14, 1918 in Primghar, Iowa. Dale grew up and received his education in Primghar, graduating from Primghar High School in 1936. He attended Iowa State University and studied engineering. After a year he left and returned to the family business, Anderson Hatchery, in Primghar. On December 25, 1941, Dale and Marjorie Louise Beebe were married in Clarion, Iowa. They established their first home in Primghar. On September 11, 1942, Dale entered the United States Army Air Corps. The new Mrs. Anderson traveled with her husband while he served. On January 31, 1945, he was honorably discharged after serving as a pilot with the Armed Forces. Following his discharge the couple returned to Primghar and helped his father with the hatchery. Later he bought the business from his father and expanded it to include a large hog and chicken feed business. He operated this business until his retirement. In 1996, the couple moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. His wife passed away there on May 14, 2002. He moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma in 2004, and in August of 2006, he moved to the Renaissance Assisted Living residence in Ponca City. In December 2007, he moved to the Newkirk Nursing Center where he passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.

He served on the Primghar City Council and on the Primghar Library Board. He was a member of the Primghar Chamber of Commerce and was selected ‘Man of the Year’ twice. He was a member of the Primghar American Legion and enjoyed flying his own planes. He raised saddle bred horses and enjoyed music, especially jazz and classical. Dale was a self-taught man, respected by his community and much loved by his family.
