CORENA CORA UITTENBOGAARD
Corena (Moret) Uittenbogaard, the daughter of Leonard and Mary (Baartman) Moret was born February 4, 1918 in Boyden, Iowa. She attended school at Boyden. On December 21, 1938, she was united in marriage to Art Uittenbogaard in Boyden, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed near Boyden until 1958 when they moved to a farm near Primghar. The couple moved into Primghar in 1967. Corena worked at the Primghar Care Center from 1968 until she retired in 1974. The couples retirement years were spent in Primghar. Art preceded her in death on January 15, 2002 in Primghar. Cora moved to the Primghar Care Center where she resided for many years and just recently moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa, where she passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 reaching the age of 97 years, 5 months and 27 days.
She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar. Cora enjoyed spending time with her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers and traveling.
Cora leaves to cherish her memory her three children; son, Gary (Patricia) Uittenbogaard of Casa Grande, Arizona; daughters, Ellen Madsen of Sioux City, Iowa and Betty Uittenbogaard of Primghar, Iowa; a special niece, Leona (Bill) Rosenboom of Sheldon, Iowa; four grandchildren, David (Lee) Uittenbogaard, Jessica (James) McInerney, Brian Breyfogle and Teresa Mohwinkle, (special friend, Jessica Fielding); a step granddaughter, Deb (George) Flores; ten great grandchildren, James, Thomas and Tiffany McInerney, Dana Uittenbogaard, Ronald Phillips, Ashley Garneau, Megan Uittenbogaard, Gracie Breyfogle, Madsen Flores and Kristan Flores; four great great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Madison McInerney and Christopher and Jason Uittenbogaard; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; two grandchildren, son-in-law, Richard Madsen; her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
