Cora J. "Billie" Engelsman, age 95, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Rev. Brian Janssen officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation will be Saturday, prior to the Funeral Service from 12:30 to 1:15 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service. Cora Johanna "Billie" Engelsman was born on December 23, 1922 in Sioux Center, Iowa at her parents' home. She was the daughter of Joe and Kate (Harmsen) Klein. She lived her youth in Sioux Center where she attended a country school. She worked in Grand Rapids, Michigan at a defense factory and later in Denver, Colorado at a candy factory. Billie moved back to Sioux Center where she worked at De Kraai Drug Store. She was united in marriage to Bert Engelsman of Sheldon, Iowa on March 5, 1947 in Sioux Center. They lived in Boyden, Iowa for 43 years where they owned and operated a repair shop. Bert passed away in 1991. Billie moved to Sheldon where she enjoyed visiting with friends, reading, and volunteering at Oak Park Care Center for several years. She lived at the Christian Retirement Home for 10 years and then moved to Sanford Sheldon Care Center. Billie was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. She passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. Those left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Cathy Engelsman of Sheldon, IA; 4 grandchildren, Billy and Jessica Pollema, Angela and Chauncey Goodrich, Daniel and Hilary Engelsman, Greg and Jamie Engelsman and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Engelsman; daughter, Debra; brother, John Klein; 3 sisters, Alice (Hilbert) Heynen, Agnes (Dave) Sybesma, and Dena (Clarence) Duistermars.
