CLARA BUFFINGTON
Clara Buffington, the daughter of Jim and Gertrude (De Groot) Keizer, was born June 5, 1917 in Rock Valley, Iowa. She received her education in country schools around Rock Valley. She was united in marriage to Ray E. Buffington on December 8, 1943 in Sheldon, Iowa. They made their home in Sheldon. Clara had cleaned homes in her earlier years and after she was married. Her husband, Ray preceded her in death on November 15, 1986. Clara remained in her home until her death; she passed away on November 12, 2008 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, reaching the age 91 years, 5 months and 7 days.
Clara was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, sewing and needle work, going for rides and spending time with her family.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Ruth Rodvik of Sheldon, Iowa; a granddaughter, Felice Rodvik of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a sister, Viola Menning of Sheldon, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Warney and his wife, Christina Buffington of Sheldon, Iowa; and a son-in-law, Wes Rodvik of Sheldon, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Sam Keizer; and three sisters, Henrietta Reitsma; Sadie Breugem; Tillie Bobeldyk.
