Services for Cheryl L. Potter, age 61, of Sheldon who passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at her residence.

Services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Cheryl Potter, 61, of Sheldon, IA, passed away unexpectedly on March 9th, 2025. She was born on July 23rd, 1963, in Rapid City, SD. Cheryl enjoyed working at the Sanford hospital in Sheldon as a dietician and caring for her residents for 7 years. She made many close friendships with her fellow coworkers and residents. In her free time Cheryl enjoyed making various art projects, baking all kinds of goodies for her family and friends, and creating anything craft related. Cheryl was an animal lover at heart, taking in multiple stray cats over the years. As well as two dogs, preceded in death is the family's dog Porgy and left behind was her recent dog, Norgy.

Preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Darline Potter, and her brother Larry Potter.

Cheryl is survived by her children Carrie Stork, Sarah DeZotell, and Michael (Stephanie) DeZotell. Siblings Roger (Rita) Potter, Charlotte Kennedy, and Terry (Kathy) Potter. Grandchildren Jayden and Hailey (Carrie), Taielar (Sarah), Kensley and Jacob (Michael and Stephanie) and many other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Cheryl's name to your local humane society or local charity of your choice.

A celebration of life date will be announced at a later time, to be held in Sioux City, IA.
