Cheryl L. Mouw, age 65 of Panama City, Florida and formerly of the Hospers and Sheldon, Iowa area, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 in Panama City, Florida. Her Visitation will be on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00P.M. at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon
Burial will be prior to the Visitation at the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa,
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Cheryl Lynn Mouw the daughter of Morris and Wilma (Swets) Mouw was born May 21, 1958 in Sioux Center, Iowa. The youngest of 10 children. She received her education at Hospers Christian School thru the 8th grade and graduated from Unity High School in Orange City in 1976. She attended Dordt University and graduated in 1980 with her teacher’s degree. She taught elementary school at Doon Christian School, Sheldon Christian School and at Panama City Florida Christian School. Cheryl returned to college at the University of Alabama and received her Physical Therapy degree in 1995. She worked for CenterWell Health-Humana in the Home Health and Physical Therapy Department in Panama City, Florida for many years. She passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida reaching the age of 65 years and 11 months.
Cheryl made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ at the Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg, Iowa as a young lady. Family was important to Cheryl. She returned for visits back to Iowa many times. She enjoyed all types of sports her favorite football team was the Jacksonville Jaguars and she attended many games with her friend, Luann Kramer. She enjoyed traveling to many destinations with her friends, Luann and Laura Van Beek.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Frank) DeBoer of Holland, Michigan; Marilyn (Glenn) Westra of Rock Valley, Iowa; Leon (Fran) Mouw of Boyden, Iowa; Judy Hoogendoorn of Milford, Iowa; Glen (Lois) Mouw of Sioux Center, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Janice Mouw in California; Lois Mouw of Tea, South Dakota; Lorene Mouw of Slayton, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, David Postema of Grapevine, Texas; also, many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Wilma Mouw, brothers, Roger, Warren and Allan Mouw, a sister, Karen (Mouw) Postema and a niece, Alexis (Postema) Rhoads
