CHARLES M. SCHNEIDER
Charles Monroe Schneider, the son of Claire and Bernadine (Kanouse) Schneider, was born June 11, 1925 in Madison, Wisconsin. He came to Sheldon with his family and received his education being home schooled by Edith Campbell and most importantly being taught by his mother. In his high school years, he went to the Sheldon High School to be taught Industrial Arts by Paul Hascall. His adult life was spent home with his parents; he had his own lawn care and snow removal business for people in the neighborhood. His summers were spent in Okoboji, where he enjoyed fishing and swimming. After the death of his mother, he lived in his own home from 1986 until moving to Oak Park Care Center in 1999. He passed away at the Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon on Sunday, May 13, 2007, reaching the age of 81 years, 11 months and 2 days.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church; he was involved in church activities and volunteer work in the church; he also volunteered with the city of Sheldon for the Avenue of Flags. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, he was an Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed playing cribbage and he was a very good player.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Richard and his wife, Mary Schneider of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; and a niece, Anne Schneider of Spearfish, South Dakota; also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
