CARRIE S. REUVERS
Carrie Sadie Reuvers, the daughter of Arie and Carrie (Buysman) Mastbergen was born July 27, 1926 in Archer, Iowa. She received her education in Archer Consolidated School. On December 3, 1946 she was united in marriage to Evert Reuvers at the home of her parents near Sheldon. After their marriage the couple lived in Sheldon for two years. They began farming south of Primghar in 1949 and in 1967 they purchased their own farm southwest of Primghar. The couple retired in 1984 and built their current home in Primghar. The couple enjoyed vacations all across the United States, Europe and spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Carrie passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa reaching the age of 86 years, 10 months and 11 days.
She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar, the Ladies Aid of the church and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Rosedale Club. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and cooking, especially baking pies for her family and friends. Family was her pride and joy.
Carrie is survived her husband, Evert of Primghar; three children, Ronald and his wife, Debra Reuvers of Northwood, Iowa; Sharon and her husband, Ronald Grothaus of Primghar, Iowa and Cheryl and her husband, Jon Risen of West Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jennifer Bengtson, Jonathan Reuvers, Johanna Reuvers, Jeffery Grothaus and Jason Grothaus; two step-grandchildren, Teresa Bjork and Kristi Steinkamp; 8 great grandchildren and one step great grandchild, two brothers, Charles and his wife, Freda Mastbergen of Sioux City, Iowa and Donald and his wife, Idelle Mastbergen of Sheldon; a sister-in-law, Kathaleen Mastbergen of Sheldon; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Kay Reuvers, her parents, Arie and Carrie Mastbergen; three sisters, Jeannette Zevenbergen, Irene Ten Clay and Henrietta Langstraat, four brothers, Lambert, John, Henry and Arie Mastbergen.
