Services for Carolyn C. Pauling, age 93, of Paullina who passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. Her funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown with Rev. Carl Stenzel ~ officiating.
Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown.
Visitation with family present will be from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Carolyn Corrine Pauling, the daughter of Walter and Gertrude (Dobbertin) Fiddelke, was born on September 10, 1930, in Paullina, Iowa. She was baptized on September 29, 1930, and later confirmed on May 21, 1949, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. She received her education from Germantown school house and later graduated from Paullina High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Wilmont Pauling on April 17, 1949, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. After their marriage the couple started farming and for many years farmed southwest of Germantown. Carolyn also worked for Norbert Gergen in Granville for many years and the Paullina Nursing Home. The couple retired and moved to Paullina in September of 1987. Wilmont preceded Carolyn in death on December 19, 1988. Carolyn remained in Paullina until moving to Prairie View Home in 2021. Carolyn passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, reaching the age of 93 years and 11 days.
Carolyn was a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. She loved playing cards, quilting, canning, and growing her garden and visiting with friends and family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, LaNette Lund of Paullina and Craig and Susan Pauling of League City, Texas; five grandchildren, Michael and Brenda Lund of Paullina, Michelle and Ryan Weaver of Larrabee, Iowa, Christopher and Judit Pauling of Nokomis, Florida, Ethan Pauling of Austin, Texas and Hallie (J.C.) Neighbors of Eagle Pass, Texas; six great grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Henninger, Zac and Shay Lund, Bryce Weaver, and Juliette and Charleze Pauling; siblings, Margaret Ebel and Wally Fiddelke both of Paullina and brothers and sisters-in-law; also many friends and other relatives.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Fiddelke, husband, Wilmont, son, Steve Pauling; brother-in-law, Harry Ebel and sister-in-law, Karen Fiddelke; also, brothers and sisters-in-law.
