CAROLINE E. LUINSTRA

Caroline E. (Behrens) Richter, Luinstra was born July 29, 1918 at Little Rock, Iowa to Anna (Meyer) and Ekke G. Behrens. She received her education at Viola Township #4 in Osceola County, Iowa.
Caroline married Clarence Richter on February 1, 1950. To this union was born one daughter. The couple farmed in the Wall Lake, Iowa area and later moved to Ashton, Iowa. Clarence died in 1959. On August 11, 1961, Caroline married Orville Luinstra. They lived in Melvin and Rembrandt.
Caroline worked at many jobs including a popcorn factory, a chicken processing facility, a grease gun factory and a turkey processing plant. After her retirement, she helped care for individuals in their home. In November of 1988, Caroline moved to Primghar to live near her daughter.
Caroline enjoyed making quilts out of recycled fabric and made one for each of her grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar and she was also a member of the Afternoon Circle.
Caroline is survived by her daughter and her husband, Clara and Jack Black of Primghar; four grandchildren, Heather and (Corey) Heimensen; Aaron Black; Gretchen Black; Brittany Black; three great-grandchildren, Zed, Hayden and Grace Heimensen and other family and friends.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, one sister and four brothers.
