Arnold “Arnie” J. Kroese, age 87, of Sheldon who passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest in Sheldon, Iowa. His services will be at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Rev. Daniel Baker ~ officiating.

Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 1:30pm until 2:30 P.M. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon

ARNOLD “ARNIE” J. KROESE
Arnold “Arnie” John Kroese was born on his grandparents’ farm in rural Sanborn on July 19, 1933. His parents were Elsie Schuett Kroese and Andrew Kroese. Arnold attended Sheldon High School and graduated in 1951. He met Rita Bleasdell when they attend church youth group together, and they were married on June 1, 1952 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. They were joined by sons, Terry and Ron.
Arnie manage the Montgomery Ward catalog store in Sheldon for many years. Arnie was also a custodian for the Sheldon Schools, working mainly at East Elementary. Rita preceded him in death on August 1, 2018. Arnie and Rita were married for 66 years, prior to her death. Arnie passed away on December 11, 2020, at the Prairie Vista at Fieldcrest in Sheldon reaching the age of age of 87 years, 4 months and 22 days.
Arnie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon where he was the custodian, first with his grandfather, then with his mother, and then on his own with help from Rita. After retirement, Arnie and Rita enjoyed many winters in Texas, escaping the Iowa weather. They enjoyed playing cards with their Sheldon and Texas friends.
He is survived by his son, Ron Kroese and (Tracie McNerney) of Omaha, his daughter-in-law, Martha Kroese, of Cedar Falls, and a close cousin of Rita’s, Sandy (Alvin) Nibbelink of Orange City, Iowa an in addition to several other cousins.
Arnie was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Terry and his parents.
