ARMOND A. STRAUB
Armond August Straub, the son of Peter and Mathilda (Lemke) Straub, was born February 10, 1913 on the family farm west of Paullina. He received his education at Zion Lutheran School in Paullina. Armond lived on the family farm and farmed it until 1983; he was also involved in custom farm work until 1990. Armond and his sister, Elnora moved into Paullina on November 19, 1977 to make their home. He remained in his home until moving to the Paullina Care Center in February of 2003; and he passed away at the care center on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, reaching the age of 93 years, 10 months and 2 days.
He was baptized on March 9, 1913 and later confirmed on June 12, 1927 and was a life long member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.
Armond leaves to cherish his memory two nieces, Martha Gustafson of Primghar and Dorothy Rohwer of Paullina; four great nephews and one great niece; also great-great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold and two sisters, Ruth and Elnora.
