Ardell “Dale” Stewart Boer, the son of Jacob and Ethel (Holtrop) Boer was born in Doon, Iowa on May 19, 1939. He graduated from Sheldon Christian School and Western Christian High School. Dale served in the Iowa Army National Guard for 6 years. On August 17, 1961, he was united in marriage to Karen Heitmeyer in Sheldon, Iowa where they also made their home. Dale worked as a carpenter for 8 years and as a sales rep for Moorman Feed for 33 years.

Dale was a member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. His faith was very important to him. He had a passion for worship and prayer. He spent much of his life putting his faith into action by meeting the needs of others and helping them to develop and grow in their relationship to God. He saw the good in people and helped many people, to have better lives. He made many trips to help those in need, in places like Mississippi, Texas, as well as many others. He helped build houses, repair homes that were damaged, and made a difference with his construction skills to help those in need.

He also volunteered in many organizations like, the Cadets (working with kids), Cursillo and Dunamis (helping people develop a dynamic relationship with God), Brothers in Blue and M2(working with men in prison to find hope), and countless other things going on in the community and his church. Dale and Karen ministered to many people over the years, showing God’s Supernatural Unconditional Love. He believed that when people keep their eyes on Jesus, they can experience true peace.

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was close with his brothers and sisters. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy and he was their hero. The last 15 years he has been going on regular fishing trips to Canada, Montana, and Washington with his sons and a few close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of 63 years, and their 4 sons, Rick Boer of Lakewood, CO; Randy (Jennifer) Boer Pasadena, CA and their children, Joshua & Racquel; Ryan (Melonie) Boer of Great Falls, MT and their children, Tiana Boer and her daughters, TaLyiah & SaBriyya; Trinity Boer (fiancé, Cody Lawhon), Avery Parmley and Kavel Boer; Rodney (Denise) Boer of Denver, CO and their daughter, Victoria; and also survived by sister-in-law, Gerry Boer of Brandon, SD; brother, Henry Boer of Jenison, MI; sister, Alvina Hiemstra and her friend, Sy De Vries of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Jeen Boer (Barb) of Sheldon; brothers, Edward (Fran) Boer of Byron Center, MI and Harlon (Joan) Boer of Sioux Center, IA; sister, Phyllis (Andy) Steensma of Grand Rapids, MI and Roger Boer of Sheldon; sister-in-law, Renee Heitmeyer; brother-in-law, Junior (Joan) Heitmeyer and other relatives and many friends.
