Anthony (Tony) Joseph Pape was born on July 7, 1938 to Stephan and Anna (Muhlenkord) Pape in Sheldon, Iowa.  When Tony was a young child, the family moved to Washington state where his father taught welding in the shipyards during World War II.

When the war ended, the family returned to Sheldon.  Tony finished school and graduated from Sheldon High School with the class of 1956.

He met and married Marlene Stallmann. They married at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers, Iowa, June 2, 1962.   Together they raised six daughters.

Tony enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, going for walks and visiting family and friends across the country.  He was active in the Kiwanis and the Knights of Columbus in both the Sheldon and Cherokee communities.
