Annie Paulsen, the daughter of John and Cora (Schaap) DeKruif, was born June 26, 1925 in Sheldon, Iowa. She received her education in Sheldon schools. On October 11, 1941, she was united in marriage to Peter H. Paulsen in Dakota City, Nebraska. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Sheldon until 1943, when they moved into Sheldon. Her husband worked for Krahling Implement and later for Huff implement and Annie cared for their two children, Peter and Linda. After their retirement the couple remained in Sheldon and moved to the Longhouse Residence Nursing Home in Spencer, Iowa in October of 2001. Her husband preceded her in death on December 2, 2001 in Spencer. Annie passed away at the Longhouse on Friday, September 30, 2005, reaching the age of 80 years, 3 months and 4 days.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, bingo embroidering.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory a son and his wife, Peter J. and Shirley Paulsen of Spencer, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Charles Hale of Minneapolis, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Jeff Paulsen of Belgrade, Montana; Dena Gross of Bozeman, Montana; Chad Jungers and his wife, Stacy of Isanti, Minnesota; Daron Jungers and special friend, Danielle of Sioux City, Iowa; Ashton Hale of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Heidi Hale of Fresno, California; two great-grand sons, Brad Gross of Bozeman, Montana; and Cody Jungers of Isanti, Minnesota; a special sister, Effie Jacobsma of Sibley, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Margaret Schnider of Sheldon, Iowa; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Herman and Ruth Paulsen and Gus and Teresa Paulsen all of Spencer, Iowa; Ernie Paulsen of Sheldon, Iowa and Matt Seivert of Sanborn, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, two brothers and a brother in infancy.
