ANNETTA H. GEERDES
Annetta Henrietta Geerdes, the oldest daughter of Gerd B. and Grace (Ohden) Gerdes was born July 29, 1920 near Carnarvon, Sac County, Iowa. She received her education in schools in Sac County. On December 6, 1939, she was united in marriage to John G. Geerdes in Carnarvon, Iowa. The couple lived in the Hartley area until moving to the Geerdes farm east of Primghar in March of 1948. The couple retired and moved into Primghar in 1980. John preceded her in death in Primghar on December 1, 1989. Annetta remained in the family home where she was active in the Primghar Community. While on the farm she grew many roses and shared them with many people. While in town she was active in Heritage Park, Hospice program for OBrien County and Primghar Womens Club. She moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa where she passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, just having celebrating her 96th birthday.
She was baptized on July 29, 1920, confirmed on June 16, 1935 and later married all at her home church. She was currently a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar. She was also a member of A.L.C.W. of the church and womens circle.
Annetta leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and her husband, Beverly and Alvin Reverts of Hartley, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Kay Geerdes of Primghar, Iowa; five grandchildren; Heidi (Lowell) Ernst of Pella, Iowa; Kevin (Sue) Gonnerman of Sanborn, Iowa; Greta (Steve) Todd of Holstein, Iowa; Scott (Stephani) Geerdes of Fairmont, Minnesota; Kay Lynn (Brett) Alka of Bellmont, Illinois; fifteen great grandchildren; Morgan and Taryn Ernst; Austen, Maycin and Payton Gonnerman; Christopher, Katrina and Teresa Todd; Tyson, Ethan and Preston Geerdes; Wyatt, Noah, Dalton and Dain Alka; two sisters, Helena Tank of Manning, Iowa and Esther Bielema of Wall Lake, Iowa; brother-in-law, Don Larson of Primghar, Iowa and sister-in-law, Jean (Marvin) Oldhausen of Hartley, Iowa; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Dennis, parents, two brothers; Bert and his wife Mavis and Rionold and his wife Annetta.
