 Funeral services for Alvin F. Hattermann, age 87, of Paullina who passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Milford. A private family service will be held at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

 Burial with military honors will be held at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

Alvin Francis Hattermann, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Rohlfsen) Hattermann, was born on June 18, 1937, in Primghar, Iowa. He attended country school until the 6th grade then Zion Lutheran School, confirmed in 1951, and graduated from Paullina High School in 1955. Alvin was drafted into the United States Army in August of 1955 and did basic training in Chaffee, Arkansas and missile school at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Alvin married Colleen Hinz on February 1, 1956, after their marriage Alvin was stationed in Vicenza, Italy until May of 1957. After returning back to Paullina they began farming in 1958 until they retired in 1995. Colleen preceded Alvin in death on December 9, 2019. Alvin passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Milford reaching the age of 87, 6 months and 5 days.

 Alvin served on the O’Brien County Conservation Board and F.M.H.A. as a chairman for 10 years. He enjoyed attending grandchildren and great grandchildren school and sporting events.

 Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters and their husbands, Pam and Duane Ricke and Carla and Scott Wise; grandchildren, Jenn (Eric) Neisteadt, Kelly Ricke and Jill (Dustin) Jung, Katie (Drew) Triplett, Korey (Lindsey) Wise, Austin (Cailin) Wise; great grandchildren, Addison, Braxton, and Hudson Triplett, Reece, Grace, Eve, and Jade Wise, Cohen and Dutton Wise, Karsyn Neisteadt, and Lennox Jung; sisters, Lois Olson and Mavis Rehder; also other relatives and friends.

 Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Colleen, son, Terry Hattermann, two sisters, Faye Tangeman, and Betty Koehlmoos and brothers-in-law, Orlynn Koehlmoos and Wesley Rehder.
