ALVIN C. FJELD

Alvin C. Fjeld, the son of John and Anna (Williams) Fjeld was born August 18, 1928 on the family farm near Primghar, Iowa. He received his education in Primghar schools graduating from Primghar High School in 1946. He went on to serve in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He returned to Primghar and assisted his family on the family farm moving into Primghar in 1972. He worked at the Primghar Lumber yard for five years and worked for seventeen and a half years at the O’Brien County Home in Primghar before his retirement. His retirement years were spent in Primghar. He passed away at the Primghar Care Center on Thursday, February 5, 2009 reaching the age of 80 years, 5 months and 18 days.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar and enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing.
Alvin is survived by two brothers, Ralph and his wife, Lila Fjeld of Primghar and Richard Fjeld of Zephyrhills, Florida; and one sister Betty McCrory of Storm Lake, Iowa; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William Fjeld and Robert Fjeld.
