MILDRED WARM
Alice Mildred Warm, the daughter of Thomas and Julia (Morrow) Sweeney was born May 6, 1909 on the family farm near Sutherland, Iowa. She received her education in Sutherland schools graduating from Sutherland High School. After her graduation she was employed at the bank in Sutherland. On February 8, 1937, she was united in marriage to Clifford Warm in Sutherland. After their marriage the couple settled in Sheldon. She was employed at the Sheldon National Bank and then later at Security State Bank and for a short time she worked for the FDIC. In later years, she was the Hostess for the City of Sheldon for 10 years. Her husband preceded her in death on July 3, 1998 in Sheldon. Mildred moved into the Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon, being one of the first residents. She passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center reaching the age of 100 years and 1 month.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon and the Catholic Daughters of America for 60 years.
Mildred is survived by her four children, Dennis and his wife, Janice Warm of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Patricia and her husband, Bruce Rasmussen of San Diego, California; Kathleen and her husband, Floyd Olson of St. Paul, Minnesota and Rosemary and her husband, Charles Schmidt of St. Louis, Missouri; also eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and ten brothers and sisters.
